In the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) Southern Section's Aero-design Challenge 2022, Team FALCON from Shri G. S. Institute Of Technology And Science, Indore, placed THIRD overall. In addition, they received a monetary prize of 20,000 along with the THIRD place Technical Presentation Award. Team members from interdisciplinary branches included Nikhar Gupta, Kanika Arya, Khushi Pandey, Ritika Datar, Kaif Sufi, Pragya Uplavdiya, and Devesh Jeswani under the guidance of Dr. G. Thakar and Mr. Anil Mulewa. A fixed-wing micro class Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) with a payload capacity of one kilogramme was built by the students for the final event, which took place at SRMIST in Chennai from September 1–3. Additionally, sponsorship was provided by the Madhya Pradesh Flying Club (MPFC) and other college alumni. The aircraft was constructed from balsa wood, aluminium alloy, and carbon spars. Students want to use aircraft and drones for the autonomous delivery of goods and other essential products in the near future.
