Shri G S Institute of Technology & Science (SGSITS), Indore, has yet again been ranked among the top FIFTY engineering institutions of the country. SGSITS has been ranked 35 in the recent Outlook-MDRA Survey 2010 of ‘Top 50 Engineering Colleges’. Among the government colleges listed, SGSITS stands at 21st position which include IITs and NITs. Of the top 50 colleges listed, SGSITS, Indore is the only college from the state of Madya Pradesh.
The survey conducted last year (2009) by Outlook, placed SGSITS at 73rd position, which clearly indicates a continuous progress achieved by the Institute in recent times.
Of the government run institutes SGSITS, Indore is ranked at 21, which includes Eleven Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs/IIITs) and Five NITs. In terms of infrastructure SGSITS, scores at par with IIIT, Gwalior.
Conducted by well known media Group Outlook and research agency MDRA, the
survey was undertaken to evaluate the status of educational institutions in the Country in varied professional fields like engineering, medical sciences, law, hotel management, dentistry, architecture, fashion technology etc. Detailed questionnaires were sent to over 1,000 colleges in the chosen streams. Given the quantum and quality of responses, only three streams — engineering, law and hotel management — were deemed fit for objective analysis. These three streams were evaluated on a combination of objective and perceptual data (with equal weights). A panel of 120 experts from the corporate sector and academia were carefully selected for consultation on establishing the parameters and
sub-parameters for ranking and their importance.
