The Centre of Excellence for Bharatiya Gyan Parampara was established in July 2025 as per the approval of Item No. 127-08(b) of the 127th meeting of the Governing Body of the Institute. This establishment had also replaced the Department of Humanities & Social Science (HSS), which had been merged in the centre. The centre is functional in wing culture in dedicated disciplines of Bhartiya Gyan Parampara together with one central wing carrying multidisciplinary areas including academic scheme components of erstwhile HSS department. Presently three wings are functional, which are Language wing; Science wing; and Visual and Fine Arts wing. The centre is committed to disseminate the knowledge derived and preserved from the Bhartiya Knowledge Tradition and indigenous practices of Bharat. Following the announcement of the NEP 2020 by the Union Cabinet on July 29, 2020, the Institute had launched the Essence of Indian Knowledge Tradition (EIKT), a non-credit compulsory subject, in 2022-23, after sensitizing the faculty members of the Institute through a three-day lecture series on Indian Knowledge Tradition. The centre now is functioning with independent Board of governors, Academic board and the Executive Committee. This Centre of Excellence works through multidisciplinary research and education to ensure the all-round development of the Institute's students and scholars, as well as the society as a whole. The centre’s academic activities are also aligned with UN’s SDGs as how Bhartiya knowledge tradition with its value system may help in achieving them by 2030. The Department of Humanities and Social Sciences, established in July 2016, now functioning as Central wing of the centre, provides services to various departments by teaching a wide spectrum of subjects at the B.E, M.C.A., B.Pharm. and M.B.A. levels. The undergraduate courses taught by the central wing are aimed at familiarizing the students of science and technology with the broader social, cultural, economic, ethical and humane concerns underlying social change. Communication Skills, taught by the centre enables the students to communicate clearly and with impact, by improving their verbal and non-verbal communication style, as well as enhancing interpersonal skills
