Hands-on Water Testing Demonstration and Analysis in Chemistry Laboratory on 27th February, 2026 during National Science day '26 celebration

In celebration of National Science Day, observed annually on February 28th to commemorate the discovery of the Raman Effect by Sir C.V. Raman, the Department of Applied Chemistry organized a hands-on Water Testing Demonstration and Analysis on February 27, 2026. The activity was designed to align with the broader goals of scientific awareness and environmental consciousness.

The primary objective of this event was to educate students on the importance of water quality assessment by testing various physico-chemical parameters. Participants were introduced to standard laboratory techniques used to determine the pH, Hardness, and Conductivity of different water samples, highlighting the role of indigenous methods and simple scientific tools in ensuring public health and environmental safety.
